Next year’s diary is already buzzing with potential Tudor Tailor events. Uppsala in Sweden will be the first Scandinavian country to welcome Jane and Ninya in the spring. Helena Alm, owner of Handelsgillet, a reenactment supply company founded in 1999, has teamed up with Malcontenta, a live action role play (LARP) group, and the local adult education organisation, to host a weekend event at Folkuniversitetet, Bergsbrunnagatan 1, 753 23 Uppsala. The Friday evening event will also offer renaissance-inspired refreshments made by Hanna Tuberg, author of two historical cookbooks. There will be a simple lunch and refreshment breaks (Swedish fika) during the workshops on Saturday/Sunday.

The event dates are Fri 4, Sat 5, Sun 6 March 2016. Early birds should book before Sat 5 December 2015 to pay the discounted price: lecture 250 SEK; workshop 1500 SEK. After this deadline, prices rise to: lecture 325 SEK, workshop 1825 SEK, although there is a discount for students in the department of textile studies at Uppsala University. For more information regarding the textile student discount, ask your course coordinator to contact Handelsgillet.

As an extra bonus, all bookings made before Fri 22 January 2016 will receive an unpainted pewter Tudor Tailor figure sculpted by Michael Perry, and have the opportunity to preorder patterns and publications at a discount from The Tudor Tailor.
